Nikki de Saint Phalle – Il Giardino dei Tarrocchie

For eternity – Nikki de Saint Phalle in Tuscany

Whether you are in Lazio, Tuscany or Umbria. This garden is really worth seeing. Not overly large, but colorful, shimmering and fabulously beautiful. Now for the second time being there despite it is still so hot in august it´s great and not just for adults.

The first sculptures and buildings were erected by Nikki de Saint Phalle and her then-husband Jean Tinguely and friends back in 1980. The official opening is then 18 years later after the completion of Noah’s Arc. Nowadays everything is finished, impressing and colorful.

Bardo state of mind

Conscious of the infiniteness

If we dare the last step on the threshold of light, it will probably be a lonely. “Lonely” in the best sense – by planting a seed – in the dark of being, which concomitantly gives us as a shadow all the vividness of his lifetime. Color force that makes life worth living so bright-and then as the essence enables on the threshold of the transition. Here, the quantitative time does not matter, because light MISTY reveals itself at the moment.

And so grows the “one seed” – the test of time – bear fruit and ripen again at some point the soul stimulating a new question implanting and new life given to the people again dance corporeal on to pastures new throws – just because he can … and because the soul is preparing to collect new knowledge in the consciousness of finitude.

colorfield painting

Color Field Painting

Colourfield Painting is a form of expression of contemporary art, which is characterized by large, homogeneously filled swatches. This technique was developed in the 1950s in America from the Action Painting. Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman (Who’s afraid of red, yellow and blue) are important representatives of this style.

The works are mostly large format and make use of any “visible only” composition. Often the pure color effect on the surface, disturbed only by marginal changes in color but which are compositionally very important. Meet the color differences hard on each other it is called Hard Edge. (Source: wikipedia.de)

Graubner – one representative from Germany dedicated to now for more than 50 years this subject in a very distinctive way See examples on this page..

Please dont´be confused on different ways of writing “color field painting – or colorfield painting or colourfieldpainting or…” – it all means the same issue 🙂

…more to come…

GERMAN VERSION

Mark Rothko und Barnett Newman (Who’s afraid of red, yellow and blue) sind bedeutende Vertreter dieser Stilrichtung.
