Color Field Painting
Color Field Painting is a contemporary form of expression in painting of the 20th and 21st century and not far from exhausted . It is characterized by large , well -filled homogeneously colorfields . Many of my works do have a pulsing and a kind of breathing of color in common . The perception is of crucial importance and essential for image belonging. This technique was developed in its most impressive form in the 1950s in America. Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler or Barnett Newman ( Who’s afraid of red , yellow and blue ) are important representatives of this style .
The colorfields are mostly on large format and show at first glance no visible composition. Often the pure color applied to the surface that is disturbed only by marginal changes in color , but they are compositionally very important. The quality of the color plays a vital role in spaces that are opened , the viewer a different kind of perception is offered , which shall otherwise remain unobserved. The class Colour Field Painting was coined by the American art critic Clement Greenberg . But let Rohtko own words :

The only thing I care about is the expression of man’s basic emotions: tragedy, ecstasy, destiny.”“Since my pictures are large, colorful and unframed, and since museum walls are usually immense and formidable, there is the danger that the pictures relate themselves as decorative areas to the walls. This would be a distortion of their meaning, since the pictures are intimate and intense, and are the opposite of what is decorative.”
Rothko :

Joseph Beuys
“Everyone is an artist” – a well-known and most unfortunately misunderstood saying of Joseph Beuys. It is about the every man’s innate creative potential, the slumbering desire to develop and the “free potential” creative to be creative. The question is not whether we are allowed to use this potential, the question is according to the will. Where a heated from the heart thinking should lead this wool.
Georgia O’Keeffe
Georgia O’Keeffe was one of the largest American painters of the early 20th Century.
Actually she wanted to be 125 years old, then it was “only” 98, but the big exhibition of her work at her 100th Birthday at New York’s Metropolitan Museum she has even prepared with . Georgia O’Keeffe is the most famous and successful American painter , particularly its greatly enlarged , almost abstract flower paintings are world famous. But not only as an artist, she was also extremely popular . She was fascinated by the force of her charisma , because she was ” of unusual beauty , spontaneity, clarity of mind and emotion and wonderful intensity with which she savored every moment of their lives. ” ( Stieglitz ) She was quick-witted , and could be stunning directly . For the younger ones , they embodied the independent , creative woman who single-mindedly went their way , never willing to make compromises that prevented her from painting.
Francis Picabia
“The head is round so that thoughts can change direction” – this saying by Francis Picabia shall also my mission statement. It’s about the openness, the meaningful and free the potential of art.
